We are extremely glad to announce that the Sport&EU board ratified today the host for our 16th annual conference in 2022. Our annual conference will take place on 16-17 June in Lausanne, the Olympic capital. And we hope to be able to return to a face to face conference after having to meet online in Rijeka in 2021.

We are grateful for the offer to our local organisers, the University of Lausanne, and especially to Emmanuel Bayle and Jean-Loup Chappelet for their enthusiastic support to take the conference to the premises of the University of Lausanne.

​

Jean-Loup Chappelet, the coordinator of the conference and an Honorary Member of Sport&EU said on the decision to take the conference to his institution: "Switzerland is not a member of the EU but three-fourths of global sport governing bodies as well as many European sport federations (UEFA, UEG, LEN, etc.) are based in the country (Geneva, Basel, Bern, Zurich, etc.) and in particular in Lausanne, the Olympic capital, a wonderful location to discuss all matters regarding sport and the Union."

Borja García, Sport&EU board member and executive director said: “We are really happy to be able to return to on-site conferences thanks to the offer of the University of Lausanne and our honorary member Jean-Loup Chappelet. We are extremely grateful that UNIL was ready to take on hosting our conference in rather difficult circumstances as we emerge out of the COVID pandemic. I am sure it will be an extremely well organised conference, and I really cannot wait to meet all our Sport&EU friends again”.
